Welcome to the GaiaVerse Blog

Introduction
We are excited to welcome you to our new blog. We’re here to share what, how, and why we build, and to document where we are headed.
In this first blog post, we describe who we are, what we seek to accomplish with our blog, and what you can expect from future blog posts.
Who We Are
We’re a team of engineers, researchers, and humanitarian advocates who see the world as one interconnected complex system of subsystems. We built GaiaVerse to make sense of the entities, relationships, and patterns that define these systems for the purpose of empowering people to make more informed and impactful decisions for the planet and humanity.
GaiaGraph, which makes up the core of GaiaVerse, is a dynamic system of knowledge graphs – a continuously updated map representing the ways people, places, events, science, and information evolve over time. Our system of knowledge graphs is hosted on the graph database Neo4j. Once data is restructured as a graph and then uploaded to GaiaGraph, our reasoning agents explore that graph, tracing relationships to identify meaningful patterns and learn about our world. In short, the AI reasoning agents that make up our decision intelligence platform turn complex, messy, highly interdependent data into clear, actionable insights for people stewarding our planet. In future blog posts, we will dive deeper into this process.
The GaiaVerse Blog: Our Goal and What to Expect
Our aim, through the GaiaVerse Blog, is for people to better understand what we do and why we do it. We recognize that people come from a wide range of backgrounds personally, academically, and career-wise. Wherever you’re coming from, our hope is you will leave with practical insights and that you are inspired along the way.
This blog is designed for those curious about the ideas behind our research, technology, projects, and mission. In it, you’ll find primers as well as in-depth write-ups on topics including knowledge graphs, AI agents and reasoning algorithms, complex systems theory, indigenous knowledge, collective decision-making, and planetary stewardship. We’ll dive into our technology stack and research, tell you about exciting projects and partnerships, recap events where we are featured, spotlight members of our team, interview practitioners across industry and academia, and more.
Follow along on our journey as we leverage the power of graph technology and AI reasoning agents to deliver solutions that are regenerative and socially just.
In our next blog post, we will cover how we operate as a business, with examples to illustrate our process. We will explain what the tangible impact of our work is and why our approach is unique.
